Box Score
The Bees faced a determined Warriors' team who brought a record of 2-5 to the SCAD Sports Complex. SCAD brought a record of 5-3 with a 5-game winning streak on the line. It was a hard fought match, but the Bees found that Webber was not going to roll over. At the end of regulation, the match was tied at 1-1, thanks in part to a goal by SCAD's
Taron Jordon on an assist by
Brinton Nute with 8 minutes remaining on the clock.
SCAD was equally determined not to lose this contest. In the two 10-minute overtimes, the Bees took 5 shots in the hopes of gaining a sixth straight victory, but it was not to be. All totaled, SCAD outshot the Warriors 17 to 6, but could not find a way to penetrate the goal. The Bees' defense did its part by preventing the Warriors from even taking a shot in either overtime, but when the horn sounded, SCAD had to settle for a disappointing tie.
The men still remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0-1, but there was a feeling that this was one that got away. The Bees next face another conference rival, St. Thomas University, at 7 pm, Oct. 5, at the SCAD Sports Complex. Come out and support your Bees!
