Box Score
The SCAD Men's Soccer Team had one of those matches against the Johnson & Wales Wildcats that one wishes to duplicate in every competition. A solid offensive match that resulted in the Bees having a 19-2 advantage in shots taken, resulting in five goals. An even better defensive effort resulted in the Wildcats taking only two shots the entire match – and of those two shots, only one was on goal.
Leading the offensive effort was
John McAleenan, who scored three goals and assisted on a fourth. His “hat trick” accounted for his first three goals of the season.
Alex Jamroz and
Jose Izurieta-Herrera added a goal each. In addition to the goals, Izurieta-Herrera and
Seth Fite joined McAleenan in the assist parade with one each.
The amazing statistic of the afternoon, though, was the ability of the Bees' defense to only allow two shots the whole day. Only one of those shots was on goal. This spoke well of the team effort that resulted in a 5-1 victory for the Bees.
SCAD's record improved to 7-5-1 overall and to 5-2-1 in the Sun Conference. Congratulations to the Bees for a super match.
SCAD has two remaining regular season matches on its 2012 schedule. Next up for the Bees will be Embry-Riddle in Dayton Beach, Florida on 10/17. The final match of the year will also be “Senior Night” when the Bees take on Thomas University at 7 pm at the SCAD Sports Complex on 10/25. Come out and support your Bees!
