DULUTH, Ga. – The SCAD Savannah men's lacrosse team defeated Emory University 13-7 in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Lacrosse Conference Division II Tournament Friday (April 29) evening at Northview High School.
The Bees, who are ranked No. 9 in the latest Prodigy Division II Top 25 poll, won their seventh consecutive match and improved to 12-4. SCAD advances to Saturday's (April 30) 2:45 p.m. semifinal match against Kennesaw State University, which defeated Palm Beach Atlantic University 15-8 in another quarterfinal match..
Shelton Polka led SCAD, which avenged an 11-8 Emory victory earlier in the season, with five goals while
Jordy McManus added three more.
Michael Molinaro found the back of the net twice while
Trey McKay,
Evan Hart and
Mike McQuaid each tallied one.
Justin Sicard and
Derek Shurson each led the Bees with two assists while McKay, McQuaid and
Matt Dean had one apiece. Sicard won 19-of-24 face-offs for the Bees.
Cody Hoerauf paced the SCAD defense with seven ground balls while
Shelton Polka had six.
Erik Elmquist contributed five ground balls while
Dan Comite had four.

Wade Winebrenner and
Kreyton Polka each had three saves for the Bees.
