SCAD 0 v Northwood 1 (ot)
In the last conference game of the regular season, the Bees(5-2-2 Conf.) fell 0-1, in overtime, to NU. Despite playing without their two starting center backs, the Bees defended well for well over ninety minutes, giving Northwood very few opportunities.
SCAD missed several one on one scoring opportunities in the first half when
Karl Sjostrom shot wide.
Jean Morana also missed a golden opportunity to put the Bees ahead but did not hit the target. SCAD hit Northwood with multiple counter attacks and could have been three up at the half but it remained a 0-0 tie.
The second half brought more Northwood attacks as the Bees fatigued but few looked dangerous. Once again the Bees missed some great opportunities to go ahead but the Northwood defense and Keeper kept the goal sheet clean. It was in the first half of overtime when Northwood broke through on their right side and managed to get behind the Bees backline to serve. The cross entered the six yard box and appeared to come off
Chris Gowar's leg, as he tackled the Northwood striker, deflecting past Keeper,
Ross Faulds. Game over.
SCAD will not know who they face until the conference games conclude on Sunday,
Oct. 30.
