MIAMI - The Savannah College of Art and Design men's soccer team got a penalty kick in the 55th minute as the Bees edged St. Thomas (Fla.) University 1-0 in a The Sun Conference match Tuesday (Sept. 8) afternoon at Bobcat Field.

The Bees recorded their third shutout of the season to improved to 3-0-1 overall and to 3-0-1 inside the conference while the Bobcats slipped to 1-2-1 and 0-1-0. SCAD returns to action Friday (Sept. 11) at 3:30 p.m. in Tampa, Fla., when the Bees face the University of Tampa, which is ranked No. 1 in the latest NSCAA NCAA Division II Top 25 ranking.

SCAD got the only goal they would need after Josiah Millar was taken down in the box and the Bees were awarded a penalty kick. Dan Fadida converted the penalty kick at the 54:43 mark for his first goal of 2009. 

The Bees outshot St. Thomas 7-4 while SCAD goalkeeper Robbie Wright recorded a save to notch his second shutout of the season.
