HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Savannah College of Art and Design defeated Milligan College 2-1 in a non-conference men's soccer match Sunday (Oct. 4) afternoon at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
The Bees improved to 7-2-2 while the Buffaloes dropped to 6-3-1. SCAD returns to action Saturday (Oct. 10) when they will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., for a 7 p.m. match against No. 15 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University.
SCAD took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute as
Ellert Hreinsson knocked in his seventh goal of the season off a
Josiah Millar cross. The Buffaloes got the equalizer six minutes later when Phillip Wilson converted a free kick just outside the box into his sixth goal of 2009.
SCAD, which outshot Milligan 27-4 as the Buffaloes played the final 54 minutes of the match two men down, took the lead back when
Dan Fadida scored off a
Javier Melon Gil assist in the 34th minute.
Milligan goalkeeper Bryan Newbold recorded 11 saves while SCAD netminder
Robbie Wright tallied two.
