SCAD Women’s Track and Field Runner Jessy Scarpone has been selected as Student-Artist- Athlete Co-Player of the Week for March 24-30.

Scarpone participated in the prestigious Raleigh Relays March 28-29 and automatically qualified for the 2014 NAIA National Championships in the 10K.

Scarpone came through the 5K in 18:02 and repeated the mark in the second 5K, exemplifying efficiency and discipline. Her finishing time of 36:04 was almost 1:30 under the NAIA's "A" Standard mark. In addition to automatic qualification for nationals, Scarpone broke the former SCAD school record by 59 seconds. She is currently ranked 2nd in the 10K and 5th in the 5K in the NAIA.

Scarpone is an Illustration major and carries a 3.4 GPA.

Other worthy considerations were Emanuel Krieg (M Track/Field), Charlotte Cutts and Jenny Danko (W. Lacrosse), and Bobby Brand (M. Tennis).

Congratulations to Jessy Scarpone in her Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week recognition. This is the 2nd time that Scarpone has won this recognition.
