No. 6 Men's Lacrosse Outlasts No. 9 Webber International in Road Victory

BABSON PARK, Fla. — The No. 6 SCAD men's lacrosse team continued its impressive 2026 campaign with a 14-10 victory over Webber International University on Thursday afternoon.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play with the win. The Warriors fell to 6-3, 2-1 AAC on the season.

DID YOU KNOW? This is the first time since 2021 in which SCAD has defeated Webber International.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD jumped out to an immediate lead, dominating the first quarter with six unanswered goals. Jonathan O'Bryant Graves opened the scoring just minutes into the contest with back-to-back goals, followed by strikes from Sebastian Manuel (2), Mason Hickman and Noah Moreland to establish a 6-0 cushion by the end of the first period.
 
The Warriors found their rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring the Bees 4-3, but SCAD maintained a 9-4 advantage heading into halftime. Hickman added his second and third goals of the day during the frame, with Ethan Cline picking up his first, to keep the momentum in favor of the Bees.
 
In the second half, the Bees utilized a balanced attack to stay ahead. Goals from O'Bryant Graves, Eli Phillips and Travis Cheristin in the third quarter pushed the lead to 12-7.
 
Despite a late push from the home team in the final period, Manuel and O'Bryant Graves each found the back of the net one more time to seal the four-goal victory.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Bees' offense was clinical, recording 14 goals on 36 shots, including 27 shots on goal.
 
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves anchored the attack with a massive eight-point performance, totaling four goals and four assists. Sebastian Manuel was equally effective, finishing with three goals and five assists to tie the game-high eight points.
 
Mason Hickman recorded a hat trick with three goals, while Ethan Cline totaled one goal and two assists, with Travis Cheristin, Noah Moreland, and Eli Phillips each added a goal to the tally.
 
Defensively, Keaton Melcher was stellar in the cage, racking up 16 saves to protect the lead. David Nebus led the defensive unit with three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while Conor Marr also contributed two caused turnovers.
 
Lucas Martinez won eight faceoffs and picked up a team-high six ground balls.
 
SCAD's transition game was also a factor, as the team successfully cleared the ball on 21 of 26 attempts.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees continue their road trip as they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., to take on No. 2 Keiser University on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m.
