HARDEEVILLE, S.C. — The No. RV SCAD men's lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign with a dominant 12-7 victory over Taylor University on Wednesday afternoon at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-0 on the season, while the Trojans are now 1-1.

Three SCAD players scored the first collegiate goals of their careers today: Freshmen Ethan Cline and Travis Cheristin, and Senior defender Gordon Beck.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD took a one-goal lead in the first quarter, with Travis Cheristin and Lucas Martinez scoring to go up 2-1.
The Bees established control early in the second quarter, outscoring the opponent 5-1, with goals from Ethan Cline (2), Jonathan O'Bryant Graves (2), and Noah Moreland, to take a 7-2 lead into halftime.
The Trojans scored three goals in the third quarter, to SCAD's one, scored by Mason Hickman, but it would not be enough as the Bees answered with four more goals from Jonathan O'Bryant Graves, Noah Moreland, Gordon Beck, and Ethan Cline in the fourth quarter to earn the 12-7 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Bees' offensive pressure was relentless throughout the contest, as SCAD outshot the visitors 62-26 and held a 29-18 advantage in shots on goal.
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves and Ethan Cline led the offensive charge with three goals each, Noah Moreland added two, while Travis Cheristin, Mason Hickman, Gordon Beck, and Lucas Martinez tallied one goal apiece. Cheristin and Sebastian Manuel totaled a game-high three assists each.
Lucas Martinez went 10-22 at faceoff, tying a game-high six ground balls in the process.
Goalie Noah Miller picked up 11 saves in the win, while Noah Moreland totaled five caused turnovers, and David Nebus and Cameron Clark totaled four and three, respectively, as SCAD totaled 18 as a team.
