Golf Wraps Up Conference Championship; Women take 2nd Place

From April 27 to 29, the SCAD men's and women's golf teams showcased their talents at the Sun Conference Championship held at the picturesque Jekyll Island Golf Club. The competition was fierce, with the teams demonstrating resilience and skill throughout the tournament.

Men's Team Performance

The SCAD men's team finished tied for 7th place, concluding the tournament with a team score of +33. The players displayed commendable performances, with Max Fallenius leading the charge. His consistent play throughout the three rounds earned him an individual score of +3, with rounds of 74, 73, and 72.

Women's Team Performance

In contrast, the SCAD women's team excelled, finishing in 2nd place with a team score of +35. Their performance was highlighted by Isabela Cuisana, who led the team with an impressive +7 overall score. Cuisana's rounds of 76, 73, and 74 showcased her skill and determination on the course.

Individual Scores:

The women's team's strong finish not only reflects their hard work throughout the season but also their ability to perform under pressure.

Conference Awards

The tournament was also a moment of recognition for outstanding performances throughout the season. Chris Kamys was honored as the Women's Coach of the Year, a testament to his leadership and the development of the team. Additionally, Yunyi Luo was named Freshman of the Year, highlighting her significant contributions in her inaugural season.
All-Conference Team:

Looking ahead, the SCAD women's golf team is now preparing for the upcoming National Championship scheduled for May 13-15 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. With their strong performance at the Sun Conference Championship, the team is motivated to carry this momentum into the national stage.
