A Six Goal First Quarter Propels No. RV Men’s Lacrosse Over Tennessee Wesleyan

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD men's lacrosse team scored six goals in the first quarter on its way to a 12-9 win over the visiting Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday evening.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 3-5, 2-2 AAC, while the Bulldogs are now 2-5, 0-3 AAC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD jumped to an early lead as Noah Moreland scored a hat trick in the first quarter with goals at the 12:38, 9:11, and 5:56 marks. Mason Hickman, Jonathan O'Bryant Graves, and Michael Mowers added to the offensive charge in the first quarter to take a 6-3 lead into the second.
 
The Bees' defense only allowed two Tennessee Wesleyan goals in the second quarter, while SCAD totaled four—Noah Moreland (2) and Mason Hickman (2)—to go into halftime up 10-5.
 
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves scored SCAD's lone goal in the third, and Max Williams scored in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs totaled four goals in the second half, but it would not be enough as the Bees held on to earn the 12-9 victory.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Noah Moreland led the offense with a game-high five goals. Mason Hickman totaled three goals and one assist, while Jonathan O'Bryant Graves added two goals. Michael Mowers and Max Williams totaled one goal and one assist each.
 
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves and David Nebus picked up a team-high six ground balls a piece, while Cameron Clark and Lucas Martinez totaled four. O'Bryant Graves led the team in caused turnovers with three.
 
Goalie Noah Miller totaled seven saves in his 60 minutes of work.
