Men’s Lacrosse Earns Dominating Win over NCAA DIII Thomas College

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD men's lacrosse team picks up a dominating 18-8 win over NCAA DIII Thomas College on Friday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 4-6 overall, while the Terriers fall to 0-5 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees got on the board early, scoring three goals in the first quarter to Thomas's zero. Vihaan Patel, off an assist from Noah Moreland, scored the first goal of the game, with Moreland picking up the second. Max Williams, off an assist from David Nebus, scored the third.
 
Both teams scored one goal in the second quarter, with SCAD's coming from Vihaan Patel to go into halftime up 4-1.
 
The Bees scored nine goals in the third quarter, essentially putting the game out of the Terriers' reach. Max Williams, Mason Hickman (5), Evan Baker, Michael Mowers, and Noah Moreland combined to give SCAD the 13-4 lead going into the final quarter.
 
Mason Hickman scored back-to-back goals to open the fourth quarter. Thomas answered with two goals of their own to make it a 15-6 game in favor of the Bees.
 
David Nebus, Logan Ortigosa, and Evan Baker scored the last three goals for SCAD, earning the Bees an 18-8 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Mason Hickman finished the game with a game-high seven goals and one assist for a game-high eight points.
 
Noah Moreland added two goals and three assists for five points, while Evan Baker, Max Williams, and Vihaan Patel totaled two goals each. David Nebus totaled one goal and one assist, while Michael Mowers and Logan Ortigosa totaled one goal each.
 
David Nebus and Lucas Martinez had a team-high four ground balls, with Nebus and Luca Colafella tallying a game-high two caused turnovers. Seven SCAD players had one caused turnover on the day.
 
Goalie Noah Miller had 15 saves in his 60 minutes of work, picking up the win in the process.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees travel to Babson Park, Fla., to face No. 2 Webber International University on Tuesday, March 18, at 1:00 p.m.
