Women's Lacrosse takes down Lincoln Memorial In Overtime

HARROGATE, TN – The SCAD women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak, defeating NCAA DII Lincoln Memorial University 14-13 on March 9, 2025, improving their record to 7-0. 

RECORDS: The Bees are now 7-0, while Lincoln Memorial falls to 4-4. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees and Lincoln Memorial battled closely from the start, with Lincoln Memorial scoring the first goal at the 13:24 mark. The Bees quickly answered with a goal from Karley Holland, followed by two goals from Emma Roch, bringing the score to 3-3 by the end of the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Bees took control with goals from McKinsey Brown and Annise Berkeley, while Lincoln Memorial kept pace, tying the game multiple times. The Bees headed into halftime with a narrow 7-6 lead. 

The third quarter saw a back-and-forth exchange, but Lincoln Memorial pulled ahead, leading 11-8 at one point. However, the Bees rallied with goals from Mollie Geiger and Ellen Benintendi to stay competitive. 

The Bees tied the game at 13-13 thanks to goals from Emma Roch and Ellen Benintendi. With just over a minute remaining. 

In overtime, McKinsey Brown scored the game-winner, sealing the victory at 14-13. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Emma Roch led the Bees with five goals, while Ellen Benintendi added three goals and one assist. McKinsey Brown also contributed three goals and one assist. 

The Bees outshot Lincoln Memorial 35 to 31. Goalkeeper Chloe Zundel made 15 saves, showcasing her strong performance in goal. 

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will look to maintain their undefeated streak as they prepare for their next game against Muhlenberg on Friday, March14th at the SCAD Athletics Complex!
