MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The No. 9 SCAD men's lacrosse team traveled to Misenheimer, N.C., to face NCAA DIII Pfeiffer University on Friday and lost 21-5.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 0-2, while the Falcons open the season 1-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Pfeiffer got on the board early, taking a 2-0 lead at the 10:31 mark in the first quarter.
 
SCAD goals from David Nebus and Jonathan O'Bryant Graves tied the game at two-all with just under seven minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Falcons scored three unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead into the second quarter.
 
Pfeiffer out-scored the Bees 6-1 in the second quarter, with SCAD's lone goal coming from Mason Hickman, assisted by Jonathan O'Bryant Graves, leaving the score at 11-3 heading into halftime.
 
The Bees were not able to get on the board in the third quarter as the Falcons scored eight goals to go up 19-3 going into the final quarter.
 
SCAD scored two goals – Lucas Martinez and Javin Shackelford – to Pfeiffer's two to end the game 21-5 in favor of the Falcons.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Jonathan O'Bryant Graves led the offensive with one goal and one assist for two points. Javin Shackelford, David Nebus, Mason Hickman, and Lucas Martinez added one goal each.
 
Lucas Martinez tied a game-high five ground balls while Aidan Rodriguez had a team-high two caused turnovers.
 
Goalies Noah Miller and Luke Lamendola split time in the cage, with Miller tallying seven saves and Lamendola totaling eight.
