GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The SCAD men's and women's indoor track & field teams traveled to Gainesville, Fla., for the Sun Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday, with the women finishing in third while the men finished in sixth.
TEAM SCORES: The women's team finished in third with 145 points, while the men placed sixth with 46 points.
DID YOU KNOW? The women's team's score of 145 is the most points the indoor track & team has ever scored at the Sun Conference Championship. The Bees' third-place finish also ties a program record for the highest finish.
SUN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS: Maggie Froning finished first in the 1000M with a time of 3:05.29.
Liz Hogan ran a 17:19.18 in the 5000M to finish first with a new SUN record and NAIA "A" standard.
Talia Sullivan won the 3000M with a time of 10:34.01.
Maddy Walter-Sherretts finished first in the mile with a new SUN record time of 5:01.24.
The women's distance medley relay team, consisting of
Maggie Froning,
Clara Wallace,
Carlotta Walser, and
Maddy Walter-Sherretts, won with a time of 13:10.51, a full 30 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.
PROGRAM RECORDS: The women's 4x800 relay team finished in second with a new school record and NAIA "A" standard time of 9:16.35. Their time has them currently in third in the NAIA.
The women's 4x400 relay team set a new record with a time of 4:05.70, placing them third overall.
