ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The SCAD men's and women's bowling teams traveled to St. Louis, Mo., for the Tier 1 Collegiate Match Games over the weekend. Both teams qualified third to advance to the match play.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day event consisted of five individual games on Saturday, followed by 16 baker games on Sunday. After the individual and baker games, the total pinfall determined seeding, with the top eight teams advancing to match play.
INDIVIDUAL GAMES: Elizabeth Weeks won the Women's Individual Title, with a total pinfall of 1080 (216 avg.), earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Joining Weeks on the All-Tournament Team was
Paris Mendones, placing fifth with a total pinfall of 999 (199.8 avg.).
Ethan Caruso was the men's top finisher, placing 13
th with a total pinfall of 1095 (219 avg.).
After the completion of the individual games, the men's team had a total pinfall of 5071, while the women's team had a total pinfall of 4748.
BAKER GAMES: Both the men's and women's teams qualified in third at the conclusion of the 16 baker games.
The men's team had a total pinfall of 8535. Purdue University qualified first with a total pinfall of 8577.
The women's team had a total pinfall of 7636. Mount Mercy University qualified first with a total pinfall of 7797.
MATCH GAMES: The men's team lost in the first round of match play to end their run.
The women's team won the first and second rounds of match play to advance to the final. Unfortunately, due to changes in the tournament format, the Bees were unable to compete for the win, finishing second overall.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Addison, Ill. for the Tier 1 ISBPA/Kegel Classic on January 16-18.
