Swimming Competes at the NCAA DI South Carolina Gamecock Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The SCAD men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed at the NCAA DI University of South Carolina Gamecock Invite on Tuesday, November 18, through Friday, November 21.
 
TEAM RESULTS: The men's team finished sixth in the field of six with a score of 394. NCAA DI University of North Carolina finished in first with 1396 points.
 
The women's team finished in seventh out of nine teams, with a score of 244, defeating NCAA DII Florida Southern and NCAA DII Carson-Newman University. NCAA DI University of South Carolina won with a score of 1506.5.
 
SCHOOL RECORDS: During the meet, two relay teams and three individuals broke program records.
 
Valle Gonzalez finished 12th in the 200-yard butterfly, setting a program record with a time of 55.22.
 
In the 100-yard backstroke, Jette Haedicke finished 24th with a time of 55.57, setting a new program record.
 
With a new program record time of 19.68, Levente Mozsarik finished in third overall.
 
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Zoltan Tompos, Jan Gastal, Jake Litchfield, and Levente Mozsarik set a program record with a time of 1:20.46, placing seventh.
 
Zoltan Tompos, Caedmon Peterson, Jan Gastal, and Levente Mozsarik set a program record in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing in sixth with a time of 2:56.38.
 
A FINALS: Two Bees earned spots in the A-Finals, finishing in the top 10 overall in each event.
 
Levente Mozsarik finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.36 ("A"). He then went on to finish in third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.68 ("A"). Mozsarik finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 43.86 ("A).
 
Louise Jones took 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.31 ("B"), while placing ninth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:04.75 ("A").

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will host Life University and Brenau University on Senior Day on January 16.
