HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 18 SCAD women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a 4-0 win over the visiting Lions of Florida Memorial University.
RECORDS: The Bees end the regular season 8-5-4, 4-1-3 SUN, while the Lions are 5-4-4, 3-3-1 SUN.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Mia Gomez scored the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the 22
nd minute off an assist from
Mina Haggstrom and
Aleca Garcia Velaza, who worked in tandem to clear the ball up the field and create a scoring opportunity.
The defenses on both sides held steady for the remainder of the first half, with SCAD taking the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Bees' offense attacked quickly in the second half, with
Mina Haggstrom ricocheting a shot off the crossbar that found the back of the net to double SCAD's lead (2-0) in the 48
th minute.
At the 64:51 mark,
Haidyn Jenkins, off a cross from
Irma Olesen, scored in the bottom left of the goal past a sliding defender and goalie to give the Bees a 3-0 lead.
With just over 11 minutes remaining in the game, SCAD's
Lovisa Henell scored her second goal of the season when she redirected the ball
Ida Akesson sent in off a corner kick just past the goalie to give the Bees the 4-0 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: SCAD's defense held Florida Memorial to only four shots, one on goal, to earn the 10
th shutout of the season. Goalie
Saga Bryntesson made one save on one faced shot to earn the win in her 90 minutes of work.
Mina Haggstrom totaled three shots, all on goal, one goal, and one assist.
Aleca Garcia Velaza totaled two assists, while
Haidyn Jenkins,
Mia Gomez, and
Lovisa Henell added one goal each.
Ida Akesson and
Irma Olesen totaled one assist apiece.
SENIOR DAY: At the conclusion of the game, the three graduating Seniors were recognized:
Ida Akesson,
Mia Gomez, and
Mia Nelson.
