MIAMI, Fla. – The SCAD men's soccer team traveled to Miami, Fla., to face the Lions of Florida Memorial on Saturday and lost 2-1.
RECORDS: The Bees end the regular season with an overall record of 6-6-4, 5-2-1 SUN, while the Lions are 7-6-3, 4-2-1 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Both teams traded shots back and forth in the first half, with SCAD taking five total to Florida Memorial's six. Neither team scored in the first 45 minutes, and the teams went into halftime tied at 0-0.
The Bees struck first in the second half, when
Mario Goic took control of the ball on the right side and snuck it to the middle to an oncoming
Kimi Husler, who found the back of the net to give SCAD a 1-0 lead in the 48
th minute.
Less than two minutes later, the Lions tied the game with a goal from Rafael Coronado. SCAD managed one more shot before Florida Memorial's Coronado scored his second goal of the game to give the Lions a 2-1 lead, a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
