Men’s Soccer Drops 3-2 Decision to No. RV St. Thomas

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The SCAD men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 loss to No. RV St. Thomas University on the road Thursday night.

RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-5-4, 5-1-1 SUN, while the Bobcats are now 10-4-1, 6-1-0 SUN.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  SCAD got on the board early when the Bees' defense cleared the ball up the field to Kimi Husler. Quick back-and-forth passes from Husler and Nils Vallotto gave Mario Goic time to get into position on the right side. Husler then sent it out to Goic, who took one step and sent it past the diving goalie to find the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game.

Five minutes later, St. Thomas's Tim Kreuzpeinter scored off an assist from Luca Heusser to knot the game at one-all.

The Bees took the lead once again in the 10th minute when a throw-in found Leon Grube's feet. Grube beat his defender and sent the ball up to an attacking Goic, who placed a well-timed kick to the bottom left corner of the goal to go up 2-1

In the 25th minute, the Bobcats struck again when Heusser scored off an assist from Thiago Patto to go into halftime tied 2-2.

Just over two minutes into the second half, St. Thomas's Bouget Bouzis, assisted by Angelo Bernardes, gave the Bobcats their first lead of the game (3-2). Neither team would score for the remainder of the game, as St. Thomas held on to earn the 3-2 win.
