KANSAS CITY, Mo. - SCAD Savannah (Ga.) freshman swimmer Valle Gonzalez had a big week at the double duals between the Bees, Keiser (Fla.), and Milligan (Tenn.), earning the first NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week recognition for 2025-26.
 
Gonzalez's big debut helped SCAD Savannah beat Keiser, the defending NAIA National Champions, 199-114, and Milligan (Tenn.) 218-91 in a double dual at home, Thursday and Friday last week.
 
She collected eight first-place finishes, hitting the A cut in the 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay, and 200-yard medley relay.
 
NAIA Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week is a bi-weekly award presented on NAIA.org on Wednesdays, with two breaks. The first run of awards is Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, followed by Dec. 17, and then Jan. 21 and Feb. 4.
