Men’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw with Life University

MARIETTA, Ga. – The SCAD men's soccer team traveled to Life University on Saturday and tied 1-1 with the Running Eagles.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-2-1, while the Running Eagles are now 2-0-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Daire Russell, off an assist from Mario Goic, scored the first goal of the game in the 19th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Five minutes before halftime, Life got on the board to knot the game at one-all. Neither team scored for the remainder of the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
 
DID YOU KNOW? The Bees' defense held the Running Eagles to only 13 shots, seven on goal, and one goal. In Life's first two games of the season, they scored a combined 17 goals with 54 shots, 30 of which were on goal.
 
KEY PERFORMERS:
  • Defenders Kimi Husler and Tim Rothe led the backline, holding Life to only seven shots on goal.
  • Connor Friel totaled six saves.
  • Daire Russell scored the first goal of the game to give the Bees the 1-0 lead.
