MOBILE, Ala. – The SCAD men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Faulkner University 3-2 in the Rumble in the Jungle hosted by the University of Mobile on Saturday.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-2-0, while the Eagles are now 1-1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD got on the board early when
Moritz Prattes found the back of the goal at the 2:40 mark to go up 1-0. However, Faulkner made it a tie game with a goal just under three minutes later. Neither team scored for the remainder of the half to go into halftime tied 1-1.
Caio Lara, with an assist from
Murilo Lara, made it a 2-1 game in favor of the Bees in the 60th minute. Marc Goic, assisted by
Raffael Mohr, scored the insurance goal, and what would eventually be the game-winner at the 76:12 mark.
The Eagles scored the last goal of the game in the 82nd minute, but it was not enough, as the Bees won 3-2.
