SCAD Bees Dominate IU Kokomo In Season Opener

SAVANNAH, GA – SCAD Women's Soccer kicked off their season with a commanding performance, defeating IU Kokomo 10-0. The Bees showcased their offensive prowess and defensive solidity, leaving IU Kokomo struggling to find their footing throughout the match.

The Bees wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Just 24 seconds into the game, Alice Eriksson opened the scoring, setting the tone for what would be a relentless offensive display. By the 20th minute, the Bees had already netted four goals, with Sydney Chura scoring twice and Wilma Hedenberg adding another. The first half ended with SCAD leading 6-0, thanks to a goal from Lovisa Henell in the 40th minute.

The second half saw the Bees continue their onslaught. Abigail Siddall scored in the 65th minute, followed by goals from Mia Gomez and Mia Nelson, both assisted by Cali Wuestefeld. The final goal came in the 87th minute, sealing a comprehensive 10-0 victory for SCAD.

While the offense was firing on all cylinders, the Bees' defense was equally impressive. Goalkeeper Katelynn Balsiger kept a clean sheet, denying IU Kokomo any chance of getting on the scoreboard. The defensive line was rock solid, allowing only two shots on goal throughout the match.

The Bees' dominant performance in their season opener sets a high standard for the rest of the season. The team now begins preparations for their matchup with Aquinas College on Friday, August 23rd.
