No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse Dominates on Senior Day

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 4 SCAD women's lacrosse team dominated on Senior Day, winning 19-5 over the visiting No. RV Warriors of Webber International University.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 9-5, 4-0 SUN, while the Warriors are now 9-5, 1-3 SUN.
 
200th DRAW CONTROL: Graduate student Keagan Plume picked up her 200th career draw control with her second one of the game.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Webber scored the first goal of the game to go up 1-0 with nine minutes remaining in the quarter. Not even two minutes later, SCAD scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead. The Warriors responded with a goal to knot the game at two-all before the Bees scored two more in the first to go up 4-2 heading into the second quarter.
 
SCAD's defense held Webber to only one goal in the second quarter, while the Bees totaled six goals to take a 10-3 lead into halftime.
 
The remaining two quarters went the same way for SCAD: the Warriors scored one goal in each of the last two quarters while the Bees totaled four and five, respectively, to earn the 19-5 win.
 
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the start of the game, the six graduating members of the women's lacrosse team were honored: Clarke Haas, Brielle Bouchard, Ainsley Jones, Keagan Plume, Eden Ali, and Grace Gibson.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Senior defenders Eden Ali and Grace Gibson scored their first collegiate goals, with Gibson scoring two and Ali totaling one. Ali had a game-high three caused turnovers, with Gibson adding one as well.
 
Annise Berkeley led the offensive charge with a game-high five goals and five points. She also added a game-high 10 draw controls. Ainsley Jones totaled four goals, while MaryGrace Gordon had two and two assists for four points.
 
Brielle Bouchard and Emma Roch scored two goals and one assist each, with Molly Wilson and McKinsey Brown adding one. Wilson also scored one assist.
 
Goalies Lorna Fowles and Chloe Zundel split time in the cage and totaled three and one saves, respectively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain at home to host Warner University on Thursday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m.
