No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse Advances to SUN Final with Win Over No. 6 Life

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 4 SCAD women's lacrosse team is advancing to the Sun Conference final for the second consecutive year after defeating No. 6 Life University 14-9 on Friday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 12-5 on the season, while the Running Eagles are now 11-5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Life scored the first goal of the game at the 12:30 mark in the first quarter. However, SCAD scored six unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead into the second quarter.
 
The first three goals of the second quarter belonged to the Running Eagles to bring them with two (6-4). The Bees answered with three goals to Life's one in the last nine minutes of the quarter to take a 9-5 lead into halftime.
 
Both teams scored three goals to start the third quarter, bringing the score to 12-8 in favor of the Bees with five minutes remaining. SCAD closed out the quarter with two more goals to go up 14-8 going into the final quarter.
 
SCAD's defense held Life to only one goal in the fourth quarter, earning the 14-9 win and advancing to the Sun Conference final.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Clarke Haas led the offense with a game-high five goals and one assist, for a game-high six points. Keagan Plume totaled one goal and four assists for five points.
 
Emma Roch totaled three goals, while Annise Berkeley totaled two goals and two assists for four points. Brielle Bouchard had two goals, with Ainsely Jones tallying one goal and MaryGrace Gordon totaling one assist.
 
Clarke Haas totaled eight draw controls, Keagan Plume totaled four, and Emma Roch had two.
 
Grace Gibson had a game-high nine caused turnovers and picked up a game-high 10 ground balls. Her nine caused turnovers broke the SCAD record of seven, set in 2018.
 
Goalie Lorna Fowles totaled 13 saves in her 60 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain in West Palm Beach, Fla., to face No. 6 Keiser University in the Sun Conference Final on Saturday, April 20, at 1:00 p.m.
