HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The No. 4 SCAD women's lacrosse team ended the regular season on a high note Tuesday morning, defeating Warner University 23-5.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 11-5, 6-0 SUN, while the Royals are now 8-10, 0-6 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD started the game off with their first goal just under two minutes into the game. Six more goals in the first quarter totaled 6-0 to begin the first break.
After two more SCAD goals, Warner scored its first point five minutes into the second quarter. Six more goals from SCAD made the halftime score 15-1.
The Bees came back from halftime strong on both sides of the field, scoring seven goals before Warner scored their second goal of the game, bringing the score to 22-2 to end the third quarter.
Warner caught a second win to start the fourth quarter, scoring three goals to SCAD's one, working the final score to 23-5.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Clarke Haas led the Bees with five goals and two assists for a game-high seven points. She was followed by Annise Berkley,
Emma Roch, and
McKinsey Brown, who all scored three goals. Brown and Roch totaled two and one assists, respectively.
Annise Berkley had the game-high for draw controls with four, followed by
Emma Roch,
Ainsley Jones, and
Keagan Plume, who grabbed three each.
Goalies
Chloe Zundel and
Lorna Fowles both spent time in goal, with Zundel nabbing three saves.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Bees have won the Sun Conference Regular Season Title and will be the first seed in the tournament. The tournament will take place at Keiser University on Friday-Saturday, April 19-20. With the one-seed, SCAD will face the fourth-seeded Running Eagles of Life University on Friday at 12:00 p.m.
