No. RV Men’s Lacrosse Picks Up Fifth-Consecutive Win

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD men's lacrosse team picked up its fifth-consecutive win of the season on Tuesday, defeating NCAA DIII Thomas College 16-7 at home.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-2 overall, while the Terriers start the season 0-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD started the scoring with a goal just under four minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Thomas answered with a goal of their own with 3:49 on the clock to tie the game at one-all. With just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Bees scored again to make it a 2-1 game going into the second quarter.
 
SCAD scored six goals in the second quarter before the Terriers scored to bring the score to 8-2. At which point both teams traded goals with the Bees adding one and Thomas adding one to go into the half with a score of 9-3 in favor of SCAD.
 
The third quarter proved to be another five-plus goal quarter for the Bees as SCAD scored five unanswered goals after Thomas scored the first goal with 10:21 remaining for a 14-4 game heading into the final quarter.
 
Thomas out-scored the Bees 3-2 in the fourth quarter, but it would not be enough as SCAD earned the 16-7 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Jordan Reeves and Sebastian Manuel led the offensive charge with a game-high six points. Reeves totaled four goals and two assists while Manuel had two goals and four assists.
 
Mason Hickman added three goals, while Evan Baker and Peter Zagaroli totaled two goals each. Theron Turnbull, Noah Moreland, and Michael Mowers tallied one goal apiece with Griffith Long and Hunter Curried adding one assist.
 
Jake Kozak had a game-high give caused turnovers and a game-high nine ground balls. Lucas Martinez went 16-18 at the faceoff with seven ground balls.
 
Goalies Luke Lamendola and Noah Miller shared time in the cage with Lamendola totaling eight saves and Miller adding two.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain at home to host No. 5 University of the Cumberlands on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m.
