HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 2 SCAD women's lacrosse team battled No. 2 Reinhardt University and lost 15-14 on Saturday.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-3, while the Eagles improve to 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Reinhardt started the scoring with a goal just under three minutes into the game. SCAD answered with their own goal, and both teams traded goals back and forth for the remainder of the quarter, going into the second, tied three-all.
The Bees scored the first two goals of the second quarter to go up 5-3. The Eagles scored four goals, while SCAD scored three more to take an 8-7 lead heading into halftime.
A 6-2 scoring run for the Eagles gave Reinhardt a 13-10 at the conclusion of the third quarter. Despite outscoring the Eagles 4-2 in the fourth quarter, it was not enough for the Bees as they fell 15-14.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Clarke Haas led the offensive charge with six goals and one assist for a game-high seven points.
Annise Berkeley followed with three goals and one assist for four points, while
Keagan Plume had one goal and two assists for three points.
Molly Wilson,
Ainsley Jones,
Emma Roch, and
MaryGrace Gordon totaled one goal each. Wilson added one assist, with
McKinsey Brown adding one as well.
Emma Roch and
Clarke Haas totaled six and four draw controls, respectively.
Goalies
Chloe Zundel and
Lorna Fowles split time in the cage and totaled three saves each.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain at home to host NCAA DIII Concordia University Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 5 at 4:00 p.m.
