No. 2 Women’s Lacrosse Earns Dominating Win Over NCAA DII Charleston

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 2 SCAD women's lacrosse team dominated on Thursday, winning 17-8 against NCAA DII University of Charleston – West Virginia.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 2-2, while the Golden Eagles are now 2-3 overall.
 
CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS: SCAD's first goal came from Emma Roch off an assist from Keagan Plume. With this assist, Plume earned her 100th career point.
 
In the second quarter, Clarke Haas scored her third goal of the game and, with it, earned her 200th career point.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:  Charleston scored the first goal of the game six minutes into the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead. It would be the only lead for the Golden Eagles for the remainder of the game. SCAD went on to score four goals in the first quarter to Charleston's two to go up 4-2 heading into the second.
 
The Bees went on a scoring run to start the second quarter, totaling three goals before the Golden Eagles scored two. SCAD followed with three more goals to go into halftime up 10-5.
 
Both teams scored three goals in the third quarter for a score of 13-8, leading to the final quarter, where the Bees scored four unanswered goals to earn the 17-8 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Clarke Haas tied a game-high seven goals to lead SCAD's offense. She also added one assist for a game-high eight points and a game-high seven draw controls. Ainsley Jones and Emma Roch totaled six draw controls, while Annise Berkeley had two.
 
Emma Roch totaled three goals and one assist, while Keagan Plume had two goals and four assists for six points. Annise Berkeley, Molly Wilson, Ainsley Jones, McKinsey Brown, and MaryGrace Gordon tallied one goal each, with Brown adding three assists and Wilson totaling one.
 
Goalie Chloe Zundel totaled 12 saves in her 60 minutes of work to pick up the win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain at home to host No. 2 Reinhardt University on Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m.
