HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's soccer team fell 5-3 to Florida Memorial Saturday night in the last regular season game of the year.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 10-4-2, 6-2-0 SUN, while the Lions are 7-6-3, 4-5-2 SUN overall.
SENIOR NIGHT: Prior to the start of the game, the three graduating members of the men's soccer team were honored:
Connor Friel, Caio Lara, and
Anthony Sumoza.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Florida Memorial scored the first two goals of the game to take a 2-0 lead at the 28:07 mark.
Mario Goic scored on a penalty kick in the 39
th minute to cut the lead in half (2-1) going into halftime.
Two more goals from Florida Memorial opened the second half to bring the score to 4-1 before SCAD answered with a goal from
Raffael Mohr off an assist from
Leon Grube, followed by Goic's second penalty kick goal bringing the Bees to within one (4-3). Unfortunately, it would not be enough as the Lions scored the last goal of the game in the 85
th minute to end the game up 5-3.

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees have finished the Sun Conference regular season as the runner-up and are the number two seed heading into the Sun Conference Tournament. SCAD will host the winner of game one, featuring Florida Memorial versus St. Thomas, on Monday, November 11
th, at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
