TAMPA, Fla. – SCAD cross country runners
Ethan Davis and
Maddy Walter-Sherretts were named the Sun Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, while
Mario Goic and
Abigail Siddall earned Sun Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Ethan Davis was SCAD's top finisher at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, placing 12th overall. His time of 24:57.7 is the second-fastest in program history. Overall, SCAD finished sixth in the field of 20 teams.
Maddy Walter-Sherretts finished sixth overall with a time of 17:43.6 for the sixth-best time in program history at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge. As a team, SCAD finished fourth out of 21 teams.
The men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Lakeland, Fla., on Saturday, November 9, for the Sun Conference Championship.
Mario Goic continues his impressive inaugural season as a Bee, scoring in both of SCAD's games this week. The graduate student scored one goal against Ave Maria and added two goals in the Bees' upset win over No. 11 Keiser University, giving SCAD the second-largest upset win in program history. Goic has scored in eight games this season, four of which have been multi-goal contests.
The men's soccer team will host No. 4 St. Thomas University on Wednesday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m.
Abigail Siddall took charge this week, scoring three goals and adding two assists as the Bees went 1-0-1 in SUN action. Against Ave Maria, Siddall scored two goals and one assist. The senior contributed to both goals for SCAD as they tied No. 2 Keiser, scoring the first goal and assisting on the second.
The women's soccer team will travel to Florida Memorial on Thursday, October 31, for a 1:00 p.m. game.
