Men’s Soccer Upsets No. 11 Keiser 3-2

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The SCAD men's soccer team upset No. 13 Keiser University 3-2 on the road Saturday. 

RECORDS: The Bees improve to 9-3-2, 5-1-0 SUN, while the Seahawks are now 7-2-2, 6-1-0 SUN. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Keiser got on the board first with a goal in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. 

Mario Goic scored SCAD's first goal of the game at the 54:59 mark to knot the game at one-all. Three minutes later, the Seahawks reclaimed the lead with a goal in the 58th minute. 

Mario Goic scored his second goal of the game at 85:00 off a penalty kick to tie the game once again. With only four seconds remaining in the game, Caio Lara scored off an assist from Raffael Mohr to clinch the upset 3-2 win. 

KEY PERFORMERS: 

  • Mario Goic scored two goals on two shots on goal. This is Goic's fourth multi-goal game of the season. 

  • Caio Lara scored the game-winning goal to give the Bees their second best upset in program history. 

  • Goalie Connor Friel totaled seven saves in his 90 minutes of work. 

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will host No. 4 St. Thomas University on Wednesday, October 30, at 7:00 p.m.
