LAKE WALES, Fla. – The No. 12 SCAD women's soccer team continues its impressive start to the season with a 1-0 win over Sun Conference opponent Warner University on Thursday.
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 5-0, 1-0 SUN while the Royals are now 3-2, 0-1 SUN.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the best start to the season SCAD has had in recent history. This is also the fourth shutout in a row for the Bees.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD dominated but struggled to find the back of the net, missing three clear-cut chances in the first 10 minutes.
The one and only goal of the game came from the Bees as
Sydney Chura was able to chip it over the keeper off a pass from
Ines Sommer in the 73
rd minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: SCAD totaled 18 shots, 10 of which were on goal, while only allowing Warner to take two, neither on goal.
Sydney Chura led the offense with one goal, two shots on goal, and four total shots while
Ines Sommer added an assist and took three shots, two on goal.
Abigail Siddall and
Abbie Biddle had two shots (both on goal), while
Berglind Baldursdottir and
Sam Wong took two shots each.
