Fifth Consecutive Shutout for No. 12 Women’s Soccer

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The No. 12 SCAD women's soccer team earned its fifth-consecutive shutout with a 3-0 win over Webber International University on Saturday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-0-0, 2-0-0 SUN, while the Warriors are 1-4-0, 0-2-0 SUN.
 
DID YOU KNOW? SCAD's defense continues to dominate, only allowing two goals this year and it was in the first game of the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite taking a combined 12 shots between both teams in the first half, the game remained scoreless until the 68th minute. At which point, Berglind Baldursdottir hit a diagonal ball into the path of Abigail Siddall who two touches it towards the goal where she buried it over the goalkeeper to the upper back netting to give the Bees a 1-0 lead.
 
Fifteen minutes later, Webber had a handball in the box to give the Bees a penalty kick which Lane Lieberman put away to give SCAD a 2-0 lead.
 
The last goal of the game started with a defensive win by Hailey Lander who played it forward to Siddall who dropped it to Baldursdottir who then played it through to Ines Sommer. Sommer caught the keeper oof her line and chipped it over her to finish the game 3-0.
 
In the 88th minute, Zoe Goodale made a diving save to keep the clean slate for the Bees.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Berglind Baldursdottir led the offense with two assists while Siddall, Ines Sommer and Lane Lieberman totaled one goal, each.
 
Katelynn Balsiger and Zoe Goodale split time in the goal picking up two and four saves, respectively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will host No. 5 Keiser University on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
