Men’s Soccer Opens SUN Action with Tie

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's soccer team hosted Warner University on Wednesday and tied 1-1 to open Sun Conference action.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-1-2, 0-0-1 SUN while the Royals are 2-2-1, 0-0-1 SUN.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD scored the first goal, four minutes into the second half when Ryan Holmes found the back of the net, to go up 1-0.
 
With 37:40 remaining in the game, the game entered a lightning delay that lasted just over an hour and a half.
 
After the return to play, neither team scored until Warner tied it at one-all with 33 seconds remaining in the game. The Royals' shot was the last of the competition.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Ryan Holmes totaled one goal on two shots on goal while Daire Russell, James Holmes, and Phillip Holtgen tallied one shot on goal.
 
Goalie Connor Friel totaled five saves in his 90 minutes of work.
