HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's soccer team hosted Faulkner University in the season opener on Thursday and ended the game with a one-to-one tie.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 0-0-1 to open the season while the Eagles are also 0-0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: James Holmes scored the first goal of the game when he found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 32
nd minute to take a 1-0 lead that lasted into the second half.
Eight minutes into the second half, Faulkner scored to knot the game at one-all. Neither team scored for the remainder of the game to finish regulation in a 1-1 tie.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Bees totaled eight shots, five on goal with
James Holmes and
Giovanny Lares totaling two shots, both on goal, each with
James Holmes scoring the only goal.
Daire Russell, Ryan Holmes, Lewis Gamble and
Tim Rothe took one shot each.

Connor Friel totaled two saves, on three shots on goal, in his 90 minutes of work.
