SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 8 SCAD women's tennis team hosted No. 7 Middle Georgia State University on Friday afternoon and fell 5-2.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 7-8, while the Knights advance to 9-3.
DOUBLES ACTION: The pair of
Alessia Piccoliori and
Francina Puig Llompart won 6-4 against Middle Georgia State at number two doubles while
Britain Botsford (Delray Beach, Fla. / Film and Television) and
Caroline Lewis won at number three doubles, 6-4, to give SCAD their first point.
The Knights won 6-3 over the pair of
Yue Yu and
Sofia Ragona at number one doubles.
SINGLES ACTION: Alessia Piccoliori (S. Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) was the only Bee to win their singles match at number one singles with scores of 6-1, 6-3.
In number two singles,
Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) lost 6-7, 3-6 while
Sofia Ragona (Turin, Italy / Luxury and Brand Management) lost at number three singles with scores of 1-6, 6-7.
Francina Puig Llompart (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) lost at number four singles with scores of 3-6, 6-3, and 3-5 while
Caroline Lewis (Marietta, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) and
Chloe Cobianchi (Bologna, Italy / Undeclared) lost 6-3, 0-6, 1-6 and 2-6, 2-6 at numbers five and six singles, respectively.
