BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The No. RV men's tennis was able to defeat No. 9 Ave Maria University 4-3 in the Sun Conference Championship Quarterfinals.
SUN AWARDS: Prior to the start of the match, the Sun Conference released the 2023 Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams.
Mark Tryakshin was named to the Second Team All-Conference.
RECORDS: The Bees advance to 5-10 while the Gyrenes are now 8-6.
DOUBLES ACTION: SCAD won their first point when the doubles teams of
Danil Ozernoy and
David Lopez Cruz won at number one doubles 6-2 and number two doubles,
Liam Stoica and
Johan Karlsson, won 6-4.
In number two doubles,
Mark Tryakshin and
Nicola Buffo did not finish their match before the majority of the matches were won. They left their match unfinished at 3-5 in favor of Ave Maria.
SINGLES ACTION: In singles, the Bees earned three points from numbers one, two and six singles.
