FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 8 women's tennis team traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Saturday and competed against No. 1 Keiser University, losing 6-1.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 7-7, 2-2 SUN while the Seahawks advance to 15-1, 5-0 SUN.
DOUBLES ACTION: The doubles pair of Yu and Ragona won at number one doubles with a score of 6-3.
Piccoliori and Puig Llompart lost 4-6 at number two doubles while Lewis and Botsford lost 2-6 at number three doubles.
SINGLES ACTION: Alessia Piccoliori (S. Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) was the only Bee to win at number two singles with scores of 6-1, 6-4 to give SCAD their only point.
Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) fell 1-6, 1-6 at number one singles while
Sofia Ragona (Turin, Italy / Luxury and Brand Management) lost 7(7)-6(4), 0-6, and 5-10 at number three singles.
At number four singles,
Francina Puig Llompart (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) fell 7-5, 0-6, and 11-13 while
Caroline Lewis (Marietta, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) and
Britain Botsford (Delray Beach, Fla. / Film and Television) lost 2-6, 0-6 and 3-6, 2-6 at numbers five and six, respectively.
