HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The SCAD men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-9 decision to No. RV Lawrence Tech at home on Tuesday evening.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-4, 1-3 AAC while the Blue Devils are 1-0, 0-0 WHAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED: In the first quarter, Lawrence was able to start the scoring off followed eight seconds later by
Seth Leister (Palm Coast, Fla. / User Experience (UX) Design) assisted by
Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada / Architecture) for SCAD's first goal.
Two more goals from the Blue Devils in the first quickly broken up by an unassisted Bees goal from
Kevin Curry (Sandy Hook, Conn. / User Experience (UX) Design) with two goals from
Max Williams (Irmo, S.C. / Illustration) assisted by
Michael Mowers (Savannah, Ga. / Film and Television) to end the score 4-3 going into the second.
A quick goal from SCAD's
Jake Kozak (Bel Air, Md. / Illustration) started off the second followed by another Lawrence goal. Reeves, assisted by
Theron Turnbull (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Architecture), was able to find the net to close the second half with a score of 6-4.
After the half, the Bees were able to score two consecutive goals from
Evan Baker (Saint Augustine, Fla. / Furniture Design) assisted by Reeves and Turnbull assisted by Leister. The Blue Devils were able to have a scoring streak making five goals in a row before Williams assisted by Baker was able to score again for SCAD at the end of the third rounding the score to 9-9.
Lawrence was able to score three unanswered goals in the fourth which finished the game with a score of 12-9.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Williams led the offensive charge with a total of three goals and was able to pick up two ground balls followed by Kozak who had one goal, three ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
Matt Tolmer (Bridgeville, Pa. / Animation) had the most caused turnovers (5) as well as three ground balls followed closely by
Bryant Aquino (Cincinnati, Ohio / Photography) with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Goalie
Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design) made 13 saves in his 60 minutes of work as well as picking up three ground balls and one caused turnover.
