No. 5 Women’s Lacrosse Loses to University of Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The No. 3 SCAD women's lacrosse team traveled to Montevallo, Ala. to compete against the NCAA DII University of Montevallo, losing 13-8 on Sunday afternoon.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 0-3 while the Falcons improve to 5-3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Montevallo started the scoring with three goals then in the sixth minute Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) scored two unassisted goals bringing the score to 3-2. Two more goals from the Falcons finished the first quarter off.
 
SCAD was able to hold Montevallo to only two goals in the second quarter followed by two Bee's goals from Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion) assisted by Annise Berkeley (Massillon, Ohio / Architecture) and Berkeley bringing the score to 7-4 going into the half.
 
In the third, three goals from the Falcons were broken up by a SCAD goal from Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture) bringing the score to 10-5.
 
Montevallo was able to score 3 more goals at the beginning of the fourth while the Bees tried with three consecutive goals to finish the game out 13-8. The goals came from Plume off an assist from Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding), Emma Roch (Savannah, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) and another from Plume.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Plume led the offensive charge with three goals, one ground ball and two caused turnovers followed by Haas with two goals.
 
Jackson had one goal, three ground balls and one caused turnover with Roch scoring one goal and two ground balls.
 
Berkeley was able to score one goal and one ground ball.
 
Goalie Lorna Fowles (Petaluma, Calif. / Animation) made seven saves and took control of one ground ball in her 49 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will host Saint Michael's College at the SCAD Athletics Complex on Thursday, March 16th at 4:00 p.m.
