LAKE WALES, Fla. – The No. 7 SCAD women's lacrosse team traveled to Lake Wales, Fla. to compete against Warner University on Thursday and won 22-6.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 5-5, 2-1 SUN while the Royals are 0-11, 0-3 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD started the scoring with an eight-goal streak. The first came from
Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) at the 13:56 mark followed only 47 seconds later by
Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture) assisted by
Ainsley Jones (Harvard, Mass. / Graphic Design).
Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) assisted by
Emma Roch (Savannah, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) was next with De Caro following.
The Bees fifth goal came from Roch assisted by
Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion) at the 10:59 mark. De Caro assisted by
Annise Berkeley (Massillon, Ohio / Architecture) followed by Jones assisted by Berkeley scored the sixth and seven goals, respectively. SCAD's last goal of the first was scored by Jones assisted by Jackson at the 3:37 mark.
Warner was able to score once at the 0:34 mark bringing the score to 8-1 going into the second.
The Royals scored only three goals in the second but was broken up by several Bees goals.
SCAD's Haas assisted by
Isabel Verrier (Topsfield, Mass. / Interior Design) scored within the first two minutes of the quarter followed by Verrier assisted by
Molly Wilson (Acworth, Ga. / Graphic Design). Haas was able to score again just past the 12-minute mark.
Roch started off the Bee's second scoring streak in the second followed by Wilson and Haas assisted by Verrier.
Paige Christoff (Canfield, Ohio / Fashion Design) scored SCAD's 15
th goal which was followed by Berkeley assisted by Wilson at the 0:53 mark rounding the score to 16-4 going into the half.
The Bees dominated the third quarter by being the only team that scored. De Caro scored at the 13:30 mark followed Jones assisted by Haas with a goal at the 7:15 mark.
Jackson assisted by Plume and Haas assisted by Wilson were able to score one goal each bringing the score to 20-4 going into the last quarter.
Christoff scored the first goal of the fourth quarter with 14:27 on the clock. Warner was able to score a goal at the 12:57 mark but was answered by a SCAD goal from Berkeley assisted by Wilson. The Royals scored the last goal of the game finishing the score at 22-6.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Haas led the offensive charge with five goals, two caused turnovers and one ground ball while De Caro scored four goals and had one caused turnover.
Jones scored three goals and took control of one ground ball.
Berkeley, Roch, and Christoff scored two goals each with Berkeley getting three ground balls and Roch getting one.
Jackson, Plume, Wilson, and Verrier totaled one goal each and Plume obtained two caused turnovers and four ground balls.
