SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 24 SCAD men's tennis team hosted No. 13 Ave Maria University on Saturday afternoon and fell 5-2.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-6, 0-2 SUN while the Gyrenes advance to 5-3, 1-1 SUN.
DOUBLES ACTION: The pair of
Liam Stoica and
David Lopez Cruz lost 6-2 against Ave Maria at number one doubles.
The Gyrenes won 7-6 over the pair of
Mark Tryakshin and
Johan Karlsson at number two doubles and 6-3 over
Eddie Wade and
Carson O'Hara at number doubles to earn the doubles point.
SINGLES ACTION: Liam Stoica (Auckland, New Zealand / User Experience (UX) Design) won the Bees first point at number two singles with scores of 6-3, 3-6, and 10-4 while
Johan Karlsson (Eskilstuna, Sweden / Architecture), in number four singles, won SCAD's second point with scores of 7(4)-6, 6-4.
At number one singles,
Mark Tryakshin (Tashkent, Uzbekistan / Digital Media) fell 4-6, 6-3, and 6-10 while
David Lopez Cruz (Sevilla, Spain / Interactive Design / Game Development) and
Eddie Wade (Cincinnati, Ohio / Fashion Marketing and Management) lost 3-6, 3-6 and 0-6, 0-6 at numbers three and five singles, respectively.
Carson O'Hara (Meridian, Idaho / User Experience (UX) Design) lost at number six singles with scores of 3-6, 4-6.
