Men’s Lacrosse Falls 12-9 to No. RV Tennessee Wesleyan University

ATHENS, Tenn. – The SCAD men's lacrosse team traveled to Athens, Tenn. to compete against No. RV Tennessee Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon where they lost 12-9.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-8, 1-5 AAC while the Bulldogs advance to 5-4, 2-2 AAC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Tennessee Wesleyan began scoring at the 14:10 mark with four consecutive goals but was answered by two SCAD goals, one from Seth Leister (Palm Coast, Fla. / User Experience (UX) Design) assisted by Bryant Aquino (Cincinnati, Ohio / Photography) and the second from Michael Mowers (Savannah, Ga. / Film and Television) to go 4-2 into the second quarter.
 
The Bulldogs scored four goals in the second quarter but was broken up by several Bee's goals. Evan Baker (Saint Augustine, Fla. / Furniture Design) scored at the 8:32 mark followed by Theron Turnbull (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Architecture) assisted by Baker at the 6:10 mark. Turnbull was able to score again at the 0:57 mark bringing the score to 8-5 going into the half.
 
Tennessee Wesleyan came out scoring first in the third quarter which was followed by a SCAD goal from Max Williams (Irmo, S.C. / Illustration). The Bulldogs were able to score once more in the third while the Bees scored twice more, once from Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada / Architecture) and the other from Baker ending the third quarter with a score of 10-8.
 
Going into the fourth quarter, Tennessee Wesleyan scored two goals that was answered by a SCAD goal from Reeves assisted by Williams to finish the score at 12-9.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Turnbull, Baker, and Reeves each scored two goals. Baker was able to get four ground balls with Turnbull taking control of two ground balls and one caused turnover. Reeves totaled one ground ball.
 
Leister, Mowers, and Williams totaled one goal each with three, two and one ground balls, respectively.
 
Goalie Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design) made seven saves and had a team high of six ground balls in his 60 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Laurinburg, N.C. on Saturday, April 8th to compete against St. Andrews University at 1:00 p.m.
