No. 10 Women’s Lacrosse Wins Over NCAA DIII Oberlin

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The No. 10 SCAD women's lacrosse team traveled to Babson Park, Fla. competing against NCAA DIII Oberlin College, winning 17-9.
 
RECORDS: The Bees advance to 3-5, while the Squirrels are now 5-4.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Oberlin started the scoring with a goal four minutes into the game. SCAD answered with a four-goal scoring streak with the first from Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) assisted by Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) and the second from Annise Berkeley (Massillon, Ohio / Architecture). The next two were from De Caro, one unassisted and other with an assist from Haas.
 
The Squirrels scored another goal at the 5:30 mark followed quickly by a goal from the Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture) followed by another from Haas assisted by Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion) bringing the score to 6-2 at the end of the first quarter.
 
The Bees dominated the second quarter only allowing Oberlin to only score once. The first goal from SCAD was at the 14:07 mark by Haas assisted by Berkeley. Berkeley, assisted by Plume, scored only three minutes later.
 
The Bees then scored five consecutive goals from De Caro assisted by Brielle Bouchard (Atlantic Beach, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management), Isabel Verrier (Topsfield, Mass. / Interior Design), Plume, Haas and Verrier to bring the score to 13-3 going into the half.
 
SCAD started the scoring off with two goals at the beginning of the third from Ainsley Jones (Harvard, Mass. / Graphic Design) assisted by Plume and Berkeley. The Squirrels answered with two goals of their own rounding the score out to 15-5 going into the last quarter.
 
Jones, assisted by Molly Wilson (Acworth, Ga. / Graphic Design), scored the first goal of the fourth quarter with 13:26 on the clock. Oberlin was able to score their final three goals. The Bees were able to score one last goal at the 1:10 mark from De Caro finishing the score at 17-8.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Haas and De Caro led the offensive charge with four goals each, while De Caro also took control of one ground ball.
 
Berkeley scored three goals followed by Plume, Jones, and Verrier scored two each with Jones having one caused turnover.
 
Goalie Lorna Fowles (Petaluma, Calif. / Animation) made one save and one ground ball in her 37 minutes of work while goalie Chloe Zundel (Santa Clarita, Calif. / Interior Design) took control of one ground ball in her 23 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Ave Maria, Fla. to compete against No. 8 Ave Maria University on Thursday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m.
