SYLVANIA, Ohio – The SCAD men's lacrosse team traveled to Sylvania, Ohio on Monday night, competing against Lourdes University, losing 10-7.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-6, while the Gray Wolves improve to 4-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Lourdes began scoring at the 1:37 mark which was quickly answered seconds later by SCAD's Max Williams (Irmo, S.C. / Illustration) assisted by Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada / Architecture) tying the score. The Gray Wolves were able to score a buzzer beater goal to bring the score to 2-1 at the end of the first.
Lourdes was the only team to score during the second quarter with four goals bringing the score to 6-1 going into the half.
The Bees came out scoring first in the third quarter with two goals from Seth Leister (Palm Coast, Fla. / User Experience (UX) Design) assisted by Michael Mowers (Savannah, Ga. / Film and Television) followed by a goal from Williams. The Gray Wolves and SCAD traded goals the rest of the third with two goals from each team. For the Bees, Leister assisted by Reeves scored at the 8:57 mark and Mowers scoring at the 6:41 mark ending the third quarter score at 8-5.
Going into the fourth, SCAD started the scoring off with a goal from Williams, unassisted at the 7:15 mark followed by two Lourdes goals. Williams was able to score again at the 00:47 mark, giving the Bees their last goal finishing the score at 10-7.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Williams led the Bees' offense with four goals and two caused turnovers followed by Leister with two goals and two ground balls.
Mowers totaled one goal and take control of two ground balls with Lucas Martinez (Aurora, Ohio / Service Design) getting nine ground balls.
Goalie Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design) totaled 10 saves, five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel Dearborn, Mich. to compete against the University of Michigan – Dearborn on Wednesday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
