No. 10 Women’s Lacrosse Dominates No. RV Georgetown College

HARDEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 10 SCAD women's lacrosse team hosted No. RV Georgetown College on Sunday, winning 20-4.
 
RECORDS: The Bees advance to 2-5 while the Tigers are now 4-8.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD started the scoring with a goal three minutes into the game from Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture). Georgetown answered with one goal but was quickly followed by a scoring streak from the Bees. Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management), assisted by Plume, started the streak at the 9:31 mark then quickly scoring another goal at the 9:14 mark. Haas scored for a third time assisted by Kambria Barry (Orlando, Fla. / Architecture) followed by Molly Wilson (Acworth, Ga. / Graphic Design) assisted by Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion).
 
Emma Roch (Savannah, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) scored the fifth goal of the streak with Wilson scoring a quick goal at the last minute to bring the score to 7-1 at the end of the first quarter.
 
SCAD was able to dominate the second quarter by being the only team that scored goals. Plume assisted by Haas scored within the first 12 seconds of the start of the quarter followed by Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) with a goal at the 10:27 mark.
 
Paige Christoff (Canfield, Ohio / Fashion Design) and Roch assisted by Annise Berkeley (Massillon, Ohio / Architecture) were able to score one goal each while the Bees were a man up. De Caro scored the last two goals of the quarter for SCAD bringing the score to 13-1 going into the half.
 
The Tigers started the scoring off with two goals at the beginning of the third. The Bees answered with two goals of their own, the first from Berkeley assisted by Jackson and the second, being a buzzer beater, from Brielle Bouchard (Atlantic Beach, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) assisted by Jackson. The score rounded out to 16-3 going into the last quarter.
 
Ainsley Jones (Harvard, Mass. / Graphic Design), assisted by Plume, scored the first goal of the fourth quarter with 9:40 on the clock. Georgetown was able to score one last goal at the 6:44 mark, while SCAD scored four more goals. The first from Wilson assisted by Roch with the second coming from De Caro, unassisted. The third goal came while the team was a man up from Plume, and the last goal, at the 0:09 mark from De Caro assisted by Isabelle Corns (McCordsville, Ind. / Animation) finishing the score at 20-4.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: De Caro led the offensive charge with five goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover while Wilson scored three goals and took control of three ground balls.
 
Haas and Plume scored three goals each with Plume getting one ground ball.
 
Roch scored two goals and took control of two ground balls while Christoff (two ground balls), Berkeley (one ground ball), Bouchard (one ground ball), and Jones scored one goal each.
 
Jackson totaled three assists as well as one ground ball and one caused turnover.
 
Goalie Lorna Fowles (Petaluma, Calif. / Animation) totaled five saves in her 30 minutes of work while goalie Chloe Zundel (Santa Clarita, Calif. / Interior Design) totaled five saves and one ground ball during her 30 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Babson Park, Fla. to compete against Oberlin College on Tuesday, March 21st at 2:00 p.m.
