CONWAY, S.C. – The No. 3 women's tennis team traveled to Conway, S.C. on Saturday and competed against Coastal Carolina University, losing 4-0.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-4, 1-0 SUN while the Chanticleers are 8-4, 1-0 SBC.
DOUBLES ACTION: Coastal was able to win the doubles point by defeating all three doubles teams.
In number one doubles, Yu and Piccoliori finished 1-6 while Ragona and
Lisa Konrad (Karlsruhe, Germany / Fashion) in number two doubles finished 0-6.
Botsford and Llompart finished 3-6 in number three doubles.
SINGLES ACTION: Alessia Piccoliori (S.Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) fell 2-6, 0-6 at number one singles while
Caroline Lewis (Marietta, Ga. / Fashion Marketing and Management) lost 0-6, 0-6 at number five singles.
At number six singles,
Britain Botsford (Delray Beach, Fla. / Film and Television) fell 0-6, 1-6.
The Chanticleers were able to win the majority before all matches were completed.
Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) competed at number two singles with a score of 6-3 unable to finish the second match. In number three singles,
Sofia Ragona (Turin, Italy / Luxury and Brand Management) had scores of 0-6, 3-2 UF while
Francina Puig Llompart (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) had scores of 2-6. 0-3 UF.
