HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 6 SCAD women's soccer team hosted No. 18 Keiser University in a Sun Conference Semifinal on Tuesday, winning 1-0 to earn its 12
th shutout win of the season and advance to the SUN Final.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the first time, in the current format of higher seed hosts, that SCAD has hosted the Sun Conference Final.
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 16-1-2 while the Seahawks are now 12-6-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD held Keiser to only two shots in the first half, while taking four of their own, however, neither team scored to go into halftime tied at zero-all.
In the 67
th minute,
Berglind Baldursdottir took a free position shot from about 40 yards out and on the left side of the field. Clearing the box, and the goalie, Baldursdottir put the ball into the top right 90 of the goal to give SCAD the 1-0 lead, and ultimately, the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Bees outshot the Seahawks 11-5 with SCAD's defense holding Keiser to only two shots on goal. The Bees earned its 12
th shutout of the season in the process.
Seven players took one shot on goal each to equal the Bees' shots on goal total with
Berglind Baldursdottir adding the goal.
